CAROTID/CORONARY ANGIOPLASTY STENTING

Known as the saviour of heart stroke patients,Carotid/Caronary Angioplasty is a procedure that opens clogged arteries that supply blood to brain. The procedure involves temporarily inserting and inflating a tiny balloon where a carotid artery is clogged in order to widen it. Carotid/Caronary Angioplasty is often combined with the placement of a small metal coil called a stent in the clogged artery that keeps the artery open and decreases the chance of it narrowing again.
Apart from improving symptoms of blocked arteries, such as chest pain and shortness of breath, angioplasty can also be used during a Heart Attack to quickly open a blocked artery and reduce the amount of damage to the heart.

CORONARY BYPASS SURGERY

Coronary Bypass Surgery is a procedure that restores blood flow to heart muscles by diverting the flow of blood around a section of a blocked artery in the heart. It involves using a healthy blood vessel taken from one’s leg, arm, chest or abdomen and connecting it to other arteries in the heart so that blood is bypassed around the diseased or blocked area.
