Spread of infections in hospitals can take lives. Our hospital infection control committee instructs health care workers to take precautionary steps to be free from the infections. Proper hand wash is the most effective way to prevent the spread of infections in hospitals. Patients should not hesitate to remind friends, family and health care providers to wash their hands before getting close them. Health care workers should also cover coughs and sneezes, staying up-to-date with immunizations, use masks and protective clothing, make tissues and hand cleaners and follow hospital guidelines when dealing with blood or contaminated items.
